The publisher of the Hotel Carlton.fr site was born long after Bendor's day, but Bendor was so legendary that he always heard stories about him. And as chance would have it, he was lucky enough to know the very person whom Bendor had passed in the Carlton's sliding door in May 1938, and to whom that little red box was slipped on 2 June 1953.
For 20 years, from 1986 to 2006, she took him on long night-time walks through Paris, Biarritz, New York, Palm Beach, London, Monaco, Salzburg, Venice and Munich, just as she had done long before with Getúlio Vargas, Thomas Edison, Joseph Kennedy Jr, JFK, Robert Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Johannes Thurn & Taxis, Elizabeth Taylor, the gentleman who went to the moon and, of course, Bendor ....
so many incredible figures and so many magical stories .... Alas, she is no longer with us, but she passed on a whole cultural heritage.
She was there too on 16 September 2002, the day the domain name Palace Hotels of the World.com was registered on the Internet, as if the time had come to write down, little by little, all these stories ....
